Welcome 2024, To All Our Friends And Clients

January is always a month for making changes, catching up and putting new plans in place for the coming year.                                            Seems life for many has been like riding on a roller coaster, yet some have put their life on hold and are waiting.                                        Everywhere you turn, some expert is giving you advice.

I believe 2024 will bring about many cautious changes and will be a great year! 2024 will see the most positive changes in our industry. Technology, Real Estate Council of Ontario, Ontario Real Estate Association and local Boards have set out to improve relationships with consumers.

For years I have kept a monthly record of All Home Types Sold in the Durham Region.  

In 2022 we had Total of 9,876 Sales with an Average price of $1,024,570.                                                                                                                    In 2023 the Total Sales was 8,487 with an Average price of $936,023.

So yes, we did have less sales and the average price did drop, but it could have been worse. For December, 2023, Sales were higher than December, 2022. To me, that is a good sign.

We  all agree that the pandemic along with the rise in interest rates were some of the strongest factors to affect our market. Adjustments take time.  Many of us lived through much higher interest rates.  

Most people hate change, so if you do decide to make a change that may not seem desireable, think positive, it could be the new beginning that leads to something better.
